Art and Math: The Golden Rectangle

This lesson illustrates how art and math are integrated using the Golden Rectangle as the major component of an artwork. It illustrates this through the work of Piet Mondrian and touches upon how he also integrates his spirituality into his artwork. After viewing the PPT, students create their own Golden Rectangles of varying sizes and create a Mondrian-styled piece of art. They use decimals, percents and fractions in this lesson.
